A friend of mine who works at a hospital (desk work) mentioned this to me. He said that they should set up a system where people get rewarded for making healthier life choices by having a reduction in their insurance and their general healthcare services. So like if a person doesn’t smoke, they get a discount. If a person doesn’t eat fast food or only eats it a few times a month, they get a discount. Maybe they don’t drink so there is another discount for that. Other things that can qualify include working in safe environments, exercising regularly, and buying healthier foods. You can show proof of this using receipts, apps, or maybe having a system that can help track everything for you. Thoughts?

I think a lot of life insurances require you do those sorts of things to stay covered. At least to my knowledge some do. If you’re unhealthy, your insurance goes up, but if you’re safe, a non-smoker, don’t drink, and get your bi yearly checkups, you shouldn’t have a high bill or high rates.

A lot of life insurances will require you to be healthy, otherwise your rates go up, because technically for the insurance agency, that person would be high risk if they’re unhealthy. Healthy people are low risk, so they are easier to cover.
